Babak Naseri
Babak Naseri embarked on his musical path at the age of six in Iran, studying piano under the mentorship of the eminent Maestro Pourtorab. Demonstrating remarkable aptitude and interpretive depth from an early age, he soon earned distinction as a prodigious young performer. This early recognition led him to join the Junior Orchestra of the National Broadcasting of Iran during his teenage years, where he cultivated refined musicianship and a profound command of Western classical traditions.
He later advanced his studies in the United Kingdom and Canada. With the knowledge gained in post-graduate studies, he deepened his theoretical mastery and interpretive insight. He achieved a rare synthesis of Eastern and Western musical intellect. Renowned for his penetrating insight, artistic sophistication, and exceptional interpretive sensibility, Naseri’s artistry embodies the lyrical subtlety of Eastern music and the architectural rigor of Western classicism.
As a certified teacher affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), he has also trained capable students, integrating his scholarly depth and pedagogical expertise into next generation of students
His performances and compositions have been praised for their depth, eloquence, and transcendent cultural perspective, affirming his stature as a consummate musician of international distinction.
Beyond his personal artistry, Naseri has been an influential contributor to the Canadian musical landscape through collaborations with choirs, orchestras, and cultural institutions. His scholarly depth and creative leadership have enriched numerous artistic initiatives. Among them, Walk Together, Children—a distinguished concert in which his work Glance Through Khayyam was presented. The event prominent coverage in The WholeNote Magazine. His other compositions such as Scent of Nowruz, Busy Day Etude, and others reveal distinctive musical characters—fusing Eastern melodic and rhythmic idioms with Western harmonic language and formal design.
